Free Health Testing Now Available for People Connected to Groundwater Contamination in the 29th & Grove Area

Wichita, KS (March 9, 2026) — Free health testing related to past groundwater contamination is now available through Clearway Testing for people connected to the area commonly referred to as 29th & Grove in northeast Wichita and nearby neighborhoods.

Anyone who lived, worked, went to school, attended church, or spent time near the 29th & Grove area from the 1970s to today is encouraged to visit ClearwayTesting.org to learn more and connect with a Clearway Testing partner offering free health testing.

Testing is available through five trusted community health organizations:

• GraceMed Health Clinic
• HealthCore Clinic
• Hunter Health
• Love Clinic & Med Spa
• Wichita Black Nurses Association

March 9 marks the coordinated launch of testing across all Clearway Testing partners, along with the public launch of ClearwayTesting.org and a coordinated public awareness campaign. The Wichita Black Nurses Association began hosting community testing events earlier in December 2025.

The ClearwayTesting.org website serves as a central resource where people can learn about groundwater contamination involving trichloroethylene (TCE) and perchloroethylene (PCE), understand who may benefit from testing, and connect directly with local testing partners. The site currently connects visitors to testing partners and will expand over the next 60–90 days to include additional information and resources. Over the next year, it will grow into the primary source of information about groundwater contamination in the 29th & Grove area and surrounding neighborhoods.

Gates, CEO of PANO Marketing, which is coordinating communications for the collaborative initiative. “With ClearwayTesting.org now live and testing available through all five testing partners, people connected to the 29th & Grove area can learn more, get tested for free, and take the next step toward understanding their health. It is time for this community to have a clear way forward.”

The coordinated initiative brings together medical providers and community organizations to help people connected to the 29th & Grove area access testing, better understand potential exposure, and receive guidance on next steps for care.

Health tests provided through Clearway Testing partners are free through December 31, 2026, made possible through grant funding that supports testing and community outreach.

Clearway Testing is supported by a network of community partners including KU Medical Center, PANO Marketing, The Progressive Alliance of Churches Together (PACT), Project Access, Sistahs Can We Talk, The Center, and the Wichita Medical Research & Education Foundation (WMREF), along with additional organizations supporting outreach and education.

A coordinated public awareness campaign is launching alongside the initiative to help ensure people connected to the 29th & Grove area know that free testing is available and where to go to get tested.
